CONCEPT A solvent-based paint has a solvent as its base. Usually this is white spirit or thinner. The solvent makes the paint liquid and easy to apply. When the paint dries, the solvent evaporates and leaves a hard and durable film on the painted surface. Because of its weather resistance and durability, solvent-based paint is often used outdoors. There are a variety of packaging solutions. For paint, a cylindrical can is usually chosen.
