Pails and hobbocks include all packaging with a capacity of 10 litres to 30 litres. All our pails are made of tin-plated sheet steel and are suitable for a wide range of fillings.

Thanks to their UN certification, these metal containers are ideal for transporting paints and varnishes that fall under the Transport of Dangerous Goods Act. Due to their large capacity, pails always have a handle and are conical in shape. The range is characterised by:

• Fully stackable when empty (takes up less space).
• Can be closed manually or mechanically.
• Available with full UN approval, RID/ARD approval or non-UN.
• Available with lid and clamping ring, or without.
• Can be emptied completely, quickly and easily thanks to its conical shape; an environmentally friendly solution!
• Perfect for printing or labelling.
• Suitable for a wide range of fillings: internal coating(s) or PET laminate.
• Available in different heights and diameters (diameters 286, 305 and 328 mm most common).

Application and coating

Industrial paints, marine coatings and chemicals are often filled in these UN-approved tin containers. Thanks to the removable lid and large opening, the pail is also ideal for mixing different components. The large opening at the top also makes it easy to work with a roller or pump, directly from the paint tin.

The terrace of the lid has a recessed shape, allowing the filled tin packaging to stack stably on a pallet. For the colour mixing system, easy opening and closing of packaging is a requirement. The pails with a machine-sealed lid can only be used for this purpose if a filling hole has been prepared in the lid.

The pails are available as standard in both plain and coated interiors. We supply a plain or white exterior as standard.

Printing on pails

Printing in smaller quantities using digital printing is also possible for certain types of pails. Of course, all types can be printed using offset printing. With our in-house design studio, we can adapt the design for the can and most types of lids. Together, we strive for the best results in brand experience and packaging requirements.
